Mildly Obsessed: Alice's Characteristics

While I genuinely believe I don't think I could ever go through with actually getting a tat, it's fun to design the possibilties. Tracing Alice and finding what exactly defines her as a character was a nice 10-minute challenge this morning. The order in which I did them was clockwise, starting from the top left. As expected, my favorite is the bottom left--highlighting her bow & shoes & apron thing. Really though is that an apron? All these years I've been trying to figure that out and I'm still not sure. Either way, she's adorable, no? I might turn this into a print for a shirt or a lil somethin' somethin'...

Mild Obsession: Inspiration Wall

Slowly setting up [yet another] new desk in the house. I swear I've moved this desk around at least 3 times since moving back home, and it never fails to inspire me for one week and then it becomes just ... a place to throw things. I found that my bedroom is actually the room with the most light, and probably the room with the least amount of spiders. Therefore... office.

I have a bajilli window panels left from when I had six in the 803 apartment and think they make a cute backdrop for all my prints. By the end of the year I hope to have this wall filled with prints and cute things, inspiring images and the like. I already have my favorite editorial shot of Julia Roberts from a 2010 Elle spread framed and up.

Buying a new duvet (originally $120, bought for $20, perks of working at a retail store and catching all the final sales as they go!) really makes the room finally seem more home-y and cozy. And looks adorbs with my clearance sheets from Target last year, just saying.

I think the only full-price thing I've bought from West Elm since working there is a pillow. Yolo.

Mild Obsession: Mt. Washington Spa Goods

My sister's wedding took place in the most extravagant hotel in all the land. I swear, this resort is basically the mountain version of a cruise. Omni's Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, NH is a bajilli-square-foot hotel in practically the middle of nowhere. Everyone should go here in their lifetime. I may go here for my honeymoon, who knows. One thing I took back with me from the wedding was my bridesmaids gift, these spa things. Probably the greatest smelling shampoo, conditioner, and body wash ever. I could smell my hair all day. When these run out, so will my patience for cheap Suave brands.

Mild Obsession: Purple Printed Ties

I have a friend named Ted. Ted is my one and only close gay guy friend, and he's a total diva slash fashionista, and I love him dearly. You can see me photographing him over at Dapperly Damned. One thing about Ted is that he fucking loves dressing preppy. It's kind of his thing. Every time he drags me into Brooks Brothers in the local outlet mall, I only have one thing to look forward to. The tables and displays of ties. Never have I ever seen a guy wear such colorful pink and purple cutesy printed ties, but they're great inspiration for color graphics, as well as prints.

Today's inspiration is brought to you by the color purple. Thank you BB!

Instant Connection/Mild Obsession: Coral

So let's talk about how much I love coral. This love affair started approximately in the year 2010 when I purchased a coral/peachy colored purse from Urban with an adorable apple print on the inside. 1. I fucking love when purses have hidden gems on the inside, i.e. prints especially if they're adorable 2. I fucking loved this purse.

I still use this purse. It's just really, really, really huge. It's great to add interest to a boring outfit, but it's extremely impractical to bring out to the bars. It's bigger than I am, proportionally. But. It's. So. Cute.

I've had the same wallet for two years now. It has the same colors featured in this blog design, and I haven't been able to part ways with it. I couldn't find a replacement. FOR TWO YEARS! Today that streak ended with this gem from Urban. Urban always comes to my rescue, I swear.

Coral, a cute laser cut pattern, and gold accents? Sign me up.
