Georgetown in Watercolor

This was the first time-consuming painting I've done with actual details and coming from an actual photograph I took in Georgetown this past summer. It was fun! I loved working on it and hope to do more. The colors in real life are more vibrant, and I'm sure they would've been conveyed more clearly if I'd scanned them but uh, our scanner is kind of ridiculously bad at things so. I plan on buying a Magic Wand from Target when I have money (which is probably never) and scan all of my prized Presented with a Bow pieces for the upcoming Etsy shop. Goal is to have the shop open by... April. Eeeeeek.

La Vie En Rose: DC Metro Area

I've lived here my whole life. You'd think that by now, I'd have a pretty good grasp on the area geographically and physically... Nope. Not me. Since I practically spent the last 6 years of my life (that is now one-fourth of my life) in a small rural college town in the mountains, I'm pretty lost. Therefore, everything I find is pretty damn amazing to my virgin[ian] eyes. Here's a mini ode to some of my favorite sites in Northern VA / DC.
